[Last Minute] Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and I know that for some, it could be challenging to think of a gift that “Mom” would love. Well coming from THIS momma, I will share with you some ideas that all moms would love, use and appreciate!

All moms want to look and feel beautiful ALL THE TIME, but let’s be real, time is a precious factor for the process (yes, I said process) it takes for us to look our best! A couple of things that moms would love and appreciate and most certainly use:

  • Mani/Pedi gift certificate to her favorite place

  • Blowout certificate from the best blow-dry bar in town

  • Massage at a fancy-schmancy place (they will have access to enjoy the whole spa)

One my FAVORITE splurges are products from LUSH Cosmetics. If you are lucky enough to have one by you, check it out. I think when people hear the word cosmetics, they think of make-up. That’s actually the one thing I haven’t tried there. I’m obsessed with their bath, shower and body products. There is something for everyone! Ask a sales person to help you. They also have all different types of gift boxes that are beautifully wrapped and ready to give to that special person. I’ve been buying these for my girlfriend’s birthdays. They also have products for men. My hubby and brothers love them!!

If there’s a mom in your circle who loves to cook, you need to check out Chrissy Teigen’s new cookbook, Cravings. My hubby surprised me last week with it and oh man, is it good! This book is filled with recipes you want to cook AND devour. Even if it’s not for a mom you know and YOU love to cook, it’s totally worth the splurge!

Clothes, shoes, purses, etc. are awesome gifts, but they are also personal. If you’re not 100% sure what to get the person, then maybe stick to a gift card to their favorite store or a gorgeous flower arrangement and decadent chocolate! I know it’s easy to return, but I hate giving gifts I think someone would return. And remember giving a gift card doesn’t have to be so boring. Pair it with something that would tie into the store. Below are a couple examples:

  • Starbucks gift card in a fun mug or big cappuccino cup

  • Sephora gift card paired with a lipstick or blush brush

  • Mani/Pedi certificate tied to a nail polish

  • Cookbook wrapped in a serving dish or tied to with an oven mit

  • Nordstrom gift card wrapped in a pretty scarf or to a big blooming flower

And don’t discount stores like Target, Homegoods or Marshalls. They are a one stop shop! Summer is around the corner: bathing suits, a cover up, pretty sandals or a beach bag are great options. Someone who loves home décor would maybe love a beautiful frame with a recent picture, a scented candle, a pretty cake stand (Lord knows I can never have enough!), or an addition for the garden, whether it be already a potted flower/plant, a wind chime or a welcoming figure. You catch my drift…these places have soo many options and you can give a beautiful gift, while saving money.

Gift baskets are always fun to give and look soo pretty all wrapped up. Again, keep your basket in theme with whatever your items are. I personally LOVE food baskets. Gourmet popcorn, meats, cheeses, chocolates, wine, a cutting board, etc. The list goes on and on. Make it your own!

Mother’s Day is about spending time with the special women in your life and letting them know what you mean to them. Remember that sometimes the simplest of gifts and gestures are always the most heartfelt! Breakfast in bed, her favorite treats, a beautiful card and children’s artwork will ALWAYS make her smile and feel loved! Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours!

Lots of Love,

Sylvia
