Practical Magic Summer & Gifts

Summer has just begun and all that means is finding the slow moments in between work and getting excited for any upcoming vacations. We'll be hitting up some of our southern favorites and of course we'll be sharing those moments with you too, but in the meantime let's get into the a Practical Magic Summer rhythm...

If you're new here, then you may have missed last summer's post about Practical Magic Season, and that it really starts in the summer into fall: READ HERE. It was also written just after the announcement and confirmation that a sequel was indeed confirmed. Well another confirmation has come and it's the release date: September 16th 2026!

Just two days after my birthday! This is my super bowl ok. I'm beyond thrilled and I hope they drop some type of teaser this fall.

So what is a Practical Magic Summer? It's all about connecting with natural elements from the space your in, to the dishes and crafts you make. Bring the outside in as much as possible

The ambiance: Are you making time to be outside in the garden or yard? Going for a swim in the ocean or lake. Are you meditating during a summer rain shower? You need to do a little earthing in order to balance out all the white noise in our modern day world.

Personally I take care of this with journaling (favorite journal HERE) and meditating in an outdoor space. Pruning and nourishing the garden of my summer & fall crops. Lastly changing it up by taking a much needed dunk in the ocean. If you don't know the power of the salty waters, READ HERE.

Embrace your inner Kitchen Witch: When you're making a meal for you or your loved ones, do you imagine this is going to soothe them, comfort them, heal them? Whether it's a warm meal, bread, or a sweet treat, I'm always making things with love. It's all about being intentional with your process and imagining it being an all time comfort cure. I'm still very deep into my sourdough making and I personally get lost in any dough recipe, checkout these easy bread recipes to try HERE and beginner friendly sourdough recipe HERE

Embrace your inner Green Witch: Herbalism is extra special because you're taking recipes that have been around for decades unto centuries and are still being used today. There are so many herbalists to explore, we tag them a lot of IG, check out some of my favorite recipes to have on the regular HERE. Find materials and books HERE.

Wearing the Earth: The books and Film are all about working with the elements and your surroundings. The subtle talisman of a crystal guarding your neck or pointer finger. Embodying energy in the most delicate way. I'm all about wearing crystals for different reasons and specific ones 24/7. 1| Prints and Paintings by Ansell Mountain | For Mother's day I purchased a few prints to gift my mother and treat myself lol. My mom is working on turning my old room into a cozy quarters for herself to enjoy reading, crafting, holiday wrapping and all the amazing creative projects she does. 2| Midnight Margarita Keychain | I was in the mood for a witchy themed keychain to replace my B&B Works crystal ball hand sanitizer holder. It's great to have attached to find my keys when they get lost in the abyss of my bags, but bulky when I wear a small purse. Which lead me to find a PM themed one. 3| Black Magic Soap | Laura, from the Enchanted Journal, is an incredible artist and aside from creating paintings and installations she also makes handmade good inspired by the series. If you are familiar with the books, then you recognized "Black Magic Soup" and wanted a stack of your own at some point! Well, Laura has beautifully manifest the soap off the paper and on our bathroom counters. The soaps are a precious addition to your bathroom and any friend you know who loves natural goods for their skincare. She also has face serums to add too! BUY HERE

5| Sally Owen's famous quote and letter to sister Gilly Owen's | Another piece I've been eyeing myself to add to my giftshop is this loving framed work by Laura. Pressed Lavender for luck, the letter to her sister that she wrote in hope and desperation. I think it's one of those gifts you give to a diehard fan and they place it their she-shed or special corner of trinkets... those who get it, get it. BUY HERE

4 | Gershman Art Pottery Quote Mug | I was perusing Etsy like I do and have been wanting a quoted mug for sometime and this potter had a few versions of the famous " Salt, Rosemary, Lavender" quote and I just needed one. Great price point and quality... I loved it so much I asked for more mugs and did additional quotes from the story! Cant wait to get those in a few weeks! BUY HERE

5 | Antique Silver Moon Earrings | I've been a hoop girl for as long as I can remember and these sweet half moons are such a nice surprise to anyone who catches the face in them! I mix metals often and these are lite and easy to wear. BUY HERE

6| Lady Moon Company's Pins | Last year I bought her " My Blood, Your Blood, Our Blood" pin and I'm hoping it comes back for gifting, however she has made some new ones I think would be wonderful additions BUY HERE

7 | Charming Gift Corner | I've already purchased a classic jack-o-lantern tote, which we'll be doing a proper #codeorange post of stores stocked and small biz finds, but what has been catching my eye is this whimsical tote with the print " The Belladonna is in my bag". I do plan on expanding on this list of Practical Magic themed gifts, but in the meantime I hope you enjoyed my current finds and buys of goods. If you are in the mood to get an idea of what is to come with the future film, apparently it is based of the final book in the series " The Book of Magic" by Alice Hoffman. Now if you didn't know this, the film, although had elements of the text, it was truly it's own storyline. Which I do think they did a great job at. I'm curious as to what they will do with it in the end, but while you wait, I say read it. You can technically read each of these books without picking up the other as it will fill in pieces of any information you may need to know. Which is great for anyone wanting to just pick up the last book BUT if you want to be swept away in Practical Magic World, start in the beginning, and they are as follows:
