DIY SEASONAL PHOTO BUCKET LIST
An Autumn Bucket List That Becomes a Scrapbook š

Making memories, collecting moments, and creating a new seasonal tradition.
Thereās something about the arrival of the āBer Months that makes me want to slow down, get creative, and make the most of the little moments. Perhaps itās the anticipation of the holidays, the familiar traditions, or simply the magic that comes with a change in season. Whatever it may be, autumn always inspires me to romanticize the everyday just a little more.
This year, I wanted to try something different with our familyās autumn bucket list. Rather than writing down a collection of activities, checking them off, and eventually tucking the list away, I thought, what if our bucket list could become a keepsake? (If you type in bucket list on instagram for inspo, you'll be amazed by the versions that are out there.)
And just like that, a new little tradition was born.
A Bucket List Now, a Scrapbook Later
The idea is simple: create a seasonal bucket list that slowly transforms into a scrapbook as we make our way through the season. I'm still debating if the scrapbook remains a 'ber month only scrapbook, or I actually make on for the other seasons.
Using a large sheet of kraft paper, Sharpie acrylic markers, and my trusty Instax printer, I put together a handmade autumn bucket list filled with the activities and traditions we hope to enjoy as a family. Festive events, pumpkin patches, baking something delicious, cozy movie nights, and all those little autumn adventures that make this time of year feel so special.
But here's where the fun really begins. As we complete each activity, I'll print a little photograph from the experience and add it to our bucket list. Slowly, the empty spaces will fill with memories, and by the end of the season, what began as a list of things we hoped to do will become a scrapbook of everything we actually experienced.A little visual diary of our autumn together. And hopefully, something we'll look back on years from now with the fondest memories.
The Little Printer That Started It All
I have to give a special mention to one of my favorite gifts from last Christmas.
My sister gifted me an Instax printer, and I don't think either of us realized just how much use I would get out of it! It has easily become one of my most-used creative tools. From printing photographs for my monthly mood boards and making little pieces of fridge art to creating seasonal cards and adding personal touches to projects, I'm constantly finding another reason to use it. There's something so satisfying about taking the photographs that usually live on our phones and turning them into something tangible. A photograph you can hold, tape to a page, tuck into a journal, or display somewhere in your home. In a world where we take hundreds of photographs but rarely print them, I've found so much joy in bringing those memories into our everyday spaces. And now, it's helping me create a whole new family tradition.
A Simple DIY With a Little Autumn Magic
One of my favorite things about this project is how uncomplicated it is.
You don't need an elaborate setup or expensive crafting supplies. In fact, part of the charm comes from its handmade imperfections.
Here's what I used:
I love that this project can be adapted for any season. A spring bucket list filled with garden adventures, a summer list of sunny memories, or a winter list sprinkled with holiday traditions. Each one eventually becoming its own little scrapbook, documenting another chapter of our lives.
Collecting Moments, Not Just Checking Boxes
As much as I love making lists (and trust me, I really do), I'm learning that the beauty of seasonal traditions isn't necessarily in accomplishing everything we set out to do.
It's in the moments that happen along the way. The spontaneous outings, the messy baking afternoons, the photographs that capture something perfectly imperfect, and the ordinary days that somehow become the ones we remember most.
Especially with little ones, the seasons seem to come and go faster than ever. I want to make a conscious effort to preserve a little piece of each one.
Not because every moment needs to be documented, but because some memories deserve to live somewhere other than our camera rolls.
And if we don't check everything off our bucket list? That's perfectly fine, too. The scrapbook will simply tell the story of the season we actually lived.
So here's to a new tradition, a little creativity, and another reason to slow down and enjoy the magic of the āBer Months. You can take a closer look at this bucket list with my latest reel HERE

With love...
