A Gilded Cozy Christmas

The day after Thanksgiving is such a beautiful tradition with my husband and now son. We dedicate, like most, to trimming our tree, playing Christmas music, drinking holiday inspired cocktails and eating Thanksgiving leftovers.

When it comes to decor in my home, I loved traditional tones. Probably because that's what our mother did and we followed suit. The one color that I have stand out the most is red, incorporating a Hygge vibe. Last year I started to pop in some brass gilded tones for a vintage take on Hygge and this year I was able to build on that with a few new finds. Below I'll share some images of the way I styled these items and where to buy. If some items are a season or two old, I'll be sure to share similar finds that capture the same feel.

If you have yet stepped out to peruse the latest decor, the places below is where I suggest you start. Not just for my theme but for the variety of items they carry to fit any theme your heart desires. Let us know in the comments below if you found the goods elsewhere.

Amazon: Be mindful of prime delivery, to make sure your order arrives swiftly, but happy to report a lot of the items I bought last year are still available this year. Also if you are following the velvet trend, you can find a lot of variation via Amazon, where a lot of craft stores are sold out! Everything I listed below can be found in our Amazon Storefront in our CHRISTMAS DECOR Idea List

Velvet Ribbon, Chiffon Ribbon, Brass Sconces, Afloral & Norfolk Lifelike Garland, Clip on Candles for Christmas Tree, Brass Candle Stick Holders, Faux Candle Sticks

and more decor pieces VIEW ALL ITEMS HERE

Michaels Craft Store: Their prices for set decor accents are not only the lowest right now, but they have a good amount in stock. Use the app for easy shopping, should you need more of one thing, I've been pleasantly surprised by the amount available online with the ease of searching within the app. They app has vastly improved over the years. Although I do recommend Hobby Lobby and Joanns, I'm really enjoying the themes happening at Michaels: Evergreen, Candy Cane, Winter. All three able to be mixed with one another or for keep to theme for tight knit cohesion.

QVC: Stop sleeping on this OG network! Christmas in July has been such a joy with the ladies in my family, I got my massive Slatkin Winter Birch candle for a fraction of the cost and if you don't know about this brand, you actually do. They created many formulas and scents for Bath & Body Works and even Nest!!! so yeah, you do and they are a luxury style candle without it being overpriced! Aside from hoarding candles, their Christmas trees are always having sales, and they have just about any style of ornaments, which my tree features a few new vintage inspired style ones.

Christmas Palace: Last year I followed in my mother's footsteps and my husband and I snatched up a bunch of large poinsettias and added elegant finial style ornaments. Currently online you will find similar ones to my solid red and gold finial shaped ornaments, but you may find more in person. These ornaments and florals are more on the pricy side, but the quality and size are definitely worth collecting as the years pass (discounts are still happening btw).

  • Large Glitter and Beaded Poinsettias (a variety of colors to choose from) BUY HERE

  • Finial Shape Glass Ornaments BUY HERE

Target: Simply because Hearth and Hand by Magnolia is available, I can always count on them to fill my corners with cozy goodness and featured in today's post and insta-reel our the extra red and gold beaded garland, plus the latest stocking we've now hung for our son!

The last place I'll recommend, especially if you are feeling the Gilded theme, are thrift shops. So many brass pieces exist and with just a little styling you can create a dreamy Christmas estate!

I hope today's Gilded Cozy Christmas has brought you some Christmas cheer and maybe helped tie in a few pieces to finish off your Christmas decor!
